Shodai Jay Trombley describes the legacy of a martial artist, Shodai Jay Trombley, a Vermont native and U.S. Marine Corps member who received a black belt from Seikichi Toguchi in 1960, and went on to create his own karate system in America. Shodai founded the Ketsugo Goju-Ryu system in 1974. This book aims to capture Shodai's thoughts, history, and the perspectives of his students. Shodai's influence on karate is evident in his unique approach, combining elements from Shoreikan Goju-Ryu, Kobudo, Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, and Judo.
